Program Operating Guidelines

APPLIES TO: Belle River Soccer Travel Program

The Belle River Soccer (“BRS”) travel program, known as Belle River FC (“BRFC”) is intended to provide soccer opportunities for players looking to advance their skills and experience playing opportunities in matches against other clubs within the region.

As a Canada Soccer Quality Soccer Provider applicant, BRFC adheres to standards that define two distinct categories of players. Players in divisions U13 and below are regarded as “Grassroots” players, while those in divisions U14 and older are termed “Competitive”.

For any discrepancies resulting in non-compliance of Canada Soccer Grassroots Standards and/or Ontario Soccer Bylaws, Operational Procedures, and Policies, the governing organization’s policy shall supersede.

Liability

I understand that Belle River Soccer and personnel, including staff, coaches, board members and volunteers; are not liable for any financial loss due to error or other issues. Nor are they liable for any event, faulty equipment, poor field condition, turf problem, parking or road or vehicle accident, game, practice, cancellation, postponement, injury, or fatality.


Injury

I understand that Belle River Soccer requires parental supervision for players under 18 years of age. In the event a child sustains an injury and a guardian is not present, Belle River Soccer and it’s personnel including coaches and other club representatives are hereby granted permission to seek medical attention for your child.


Supervision

I also understand that parental supervision for players 18 years and younger is required by the club. In the event an unsupervised child becomes injured, coaches and club personnel have the right to seek medical attention on behalf of the injured child.


Re-balance

For player pools or when more than one team exists in a division, Belle River FC reserves the right to move players in an effort to re-balance the teams, to ensure a successful season for all.


Pictures

I am aware that pictures may be taken of my child by other parents of Belle River Soccer and used to promote Belle River Soccer.


Heat

Concerning; Heat, Rain and Field Conditions, it is ultimately up to the Club to the make the decision regarding when we close the fields or cancel a game. In all cases, as always, the parent can determine what works best for their child.

HEAT ADVISORY:

I understand that any heat advisory issued by any municipal weather authority is not indicative of any game or practice cancellation. I understand that Belle River Soccer will determine if and when a game is cancelled by following the advice of their governing body, the Essex County Soccer Association. If a heat advisory is in place, Belle River Soccer may choose to limit game time, add additional water breaks, offer unlimited substitutions or impose other measures of safe play in lieu of cancellation. Belle River Soccer is not obligated to cancel, but may do so under extreme conditions. It is ultimately the responsibility of the parent to determine if they wish
their child participate.
I also understand that should a game be cancelled due to heat, Belle River Soccer assumes no financial responsibility.


Rain

I understand that soccer is played in the rain and I am fully expected to participate. I also recognize that in the event of thunder or lightning, both games and practices will be delayed or cancelled for the safety of all participants.


Governing Directives

I understand that Belle River Soccer may be instructed by a parent organization, health unit, or other governing body to modify, delay or even cancel activities under special circumstances. In such an event, Belle River Soccer will act in accordance to these directives and shall not be held liable for any inability to deliver the services outlined in this registration.

Consent For Use of Personal Information

I authorize Canada Soccer, Ontario Soccer, the applicable District Association and Soccer Organization to collect and use personal information about me for the purpose of receiving communications from the Canada Soccer, Ontario Soccer, District Association, and Soccer Organization. I understand that I may withdraw such consent related to receiving communications at any time by contacting the Ontario Soccer Privacy Officer at privacy@ontariosoccer.net or by mail to: Attention: Privacy Officer, Ontario Soccer, 7601 Martin Grove Road, Vaughan ON L4L 9E4. The Privacy Officer will advise the implications of such withdrawal.

Uniform

Belle River FC requires that all travel players wear approved uniforms when representing the organization. Uniforms are not included in the price of registration and must be purchased by the player once they accept a position on a travel team. Details for ordering will be provided by coaches around the time of registration and are specific to the upcoming season.

Uniforms purchased for previous seasons, despite having a similar appearance, may have minor style variations to that of the current season. Such uniforms will NOT be approved for play and may result in a player being restricted from play until the approved uniform is worn.

Equipment and Attire

DURING A GAME:

For the safety of your child as well as others, jewelry of any kind will not be allowed on the field of play.

Proper footwear and shin pads are mandatory equipment to be supplied by the player. Shin pads must be completely covered by the player’s socks. Any player found by the referee to be in violation of the above rules will be asked to leave the field-of-play until the situation is rectified to the satisfaction of the referee.
