About Us

Formed in 1979 by local residents, Belle River Minor Soccer (now Belle River Soccer) is a community-based, non-profit that provides opportunities to play soccer for children in Lakeshore, ON and surrounding areas. In existence for over 40 years, our club aims to provide programs for everyone from ages 4 through 94.

What started as a small club playing out of local school fields – in an effort to provide organized soccer for the Belle River community – has grown into Lakeshore, Ontario’s largest youth sport association. Run by a Board of 12 volunteers, our club membership has risen to over 1100 players and volunteers. Our fields are all centrally located at the Atlas Tube Recreation Center, but our reach far exceeds that.

Belle River Soccer Club creates a fun and safe environment that fosters enjoyment of soccer while teaching children how to play the game. We offer programs for novice to advanced players and make every effort to place children in a program that best fits their current abilities. Most importantly, we give all children the opportunity to play soccer and never turn a child due to inexperience or limited skill.

Belle River GREEN

Green is the choice of colour to represent the rich French Canadian heritage found in our area. The Francophone Flag of Green and White is a symbol of the National Pride that makes Canada unique.

Our Green honours that heritage, the Green of the pure soccer pitch and the Green that so often is a symbol for Spring and Summer. Green is also the colour of choice of Belle River District High School which has a long established history in our community for athletic excellence. The white and black represent the archetypal colours of a soccer ball. Together, our 3 main colours help to define our program, club and community! Go Belle River Green!
