* All registrants must agree to this Code of Conduct to register and to participate in Belle River Soccer’s Adult Coed House League program.
Purpose
The Belle River Soccer Code of Conduct helps ensure a safe and fun environment for all our players and volunteers. Adherence to this code is expected from all those attending our facilities.
Sports can play an important role in promoting both physical and mental health for players, but only if participant are respectful of one another, mindful of league expectations, and acknowledge that our events take place in open view of our community and the general public.
It is therefore essential that players, their guests, and any other attendees embrace the values of good sportsmanship. There is no better way to achieve this than leading by example and demonstrating fairness, respect and self-control (“sportsmanship”).
The Code
As a player registered with Belle River Soccer, I agree to the following Code of Conduct:
- Maintain awareness that this is a SUPER NON-COMPETITIVE league
- Keep a positive can-do attitude
- Arrive promptly and ready to go for all games and events
- Refrain from the use of profanity, both on and off the field
- Respect my teammates and give only positive encouragement
- Respect my opponents by not playing in a way that could purposely hurt or injure another player
- Acknowledge that this league welcomes players of all skill level and play accordingly
- Accept my team placement
- Accept decisions made by team captains during games
- Exhibit humility when winning and grace when losing
- To remember that I represent myself, my team, my club, and my town with my actions and comments
- Ensure family or friends in attendance adhere to these same policies
- Recognize that in the absence of match officials, teams must cooperate to respect the laws of the game and exhibit discretion when declaring an infraction
- Remember that this is a SUPER NON-COMPETITIVE league focused on promoting physical activity and building friendships
Additional guidelines
It is expected that everyone involved with Belle River Soccer activities will behave in a responsible manner. Please be aware of the following:
- Respect should be shown to all players, captains, supporters and club officials.
- Supporting a team does not give you the right to be rude or abrasive.
- Please respect the integrity and judgment of the club officials and refrain from abusive, inappropriate actions or words.
- Please behave in a manner that exhibits class that would never cause Belle River Soccer or its members embarrassment.
- Failure to follow this policy as outlined will result in referral to the Board Of Directors for disciplinary action which can ultimately lead to the removal of the player from the league.
- For your safety, shin pads should be worn and jewelry should be removed.
Penalties for Violators
Failure to abide by the Code of Conduct is subject to disciplinary action by the Adult Coed Disciplinary Committee or the Belle River Soccer Board of Directors. Actions may include but are not limited to any or all of the following in any order or combination:
- Verbal warning
- Suspension or immediate ejection from any Belle River Soccer related event
- Suspension for the season
- Permanent termination from all Belle River Soccer related events
- Notification of violations to local law enforcement
- Request for support from local law enforcement
