League Operating Guidelines

APPLIES TO: Belle River Soccer Adult Coed House League

Capacity Limits

Balancing participant levels across teams allows Belle River Soccer (“BRS”) to provide playing opportunities for as many players as possible. To accomplish this, Belle River Soccer reserves the right to take actions including, but not limited to:

  1. Limit the number of registrations
  2. Implement late fees for registrations occurring after a predetermined date
  3. Add, change or modify a division to accommodate teams (or lack thereof)
  4. Change play and field size to accommodate team size
  5. Alter game format to accommodate league size, respecting advertised times and game durations
  6. Transfer players or permit late registrations in an effort to re-balance teams and to ensure a successful season for all

Liability

I understand that Belle River Soccer and personnel, including staff, board members and volunteers; are not liable for any financial loss due to error or other issues. Nor are they liable for any event, faulty equipment, poor field condition, turf problem, parking or road or vehicle accident, game, practice, cancellation, postponement, injury, or fatality.


Injury

I understand that although this league is considered non-competitive, participation in the league still has risk. In the event of an injury, Belle River Soccer and it’s personnel are hereby granted permission to seek medical attention when deemed necessary.


Re-balance

Belle River Soccer also reserves the right to move players in an effort to re-balance the teams, to ensure a successful season for all.


Pictures

I am aware that pictures may be taken and used to promote Belle River Soccer and our programs.


Heat

Concerning; Heat, Rain and Field Conditions, it is ultimately up to the Club to the make the decision regarding when we close the fields or cancel a game. In all cases, as always, the player can determine when participation is not in their best interest and choose not to participate.

HEAT ADVISORY:

I understand that any heat advisory issued by any municipal weather authority is not indicative of any game or practice cancellation. If a heat advisory is in place, Belle River Soccer may choose to limit game time, add additional water breaks, offer unlimited substitutions or impose other measures of safe play in lieu of cancellation. Belle River Soccer is not obligated to cancel, but may do so under extreme conditions. It is ultimately your responsibility to determine if you want to participate.

I also understand that should a game be cancelled due to heat, Belle River Soccer assumes no financial responsibility.


Rain

I understand that soccer is played in the rain and that games will proceed unless fields are closed. Although choosing not to participate is the choice of the participant, game scheduled will be included in team standings. I also recognize that in the event of thunder or lightning, games will be delayed or cancelled for the safety of all participants.


Governing Directives

I understand that Belle River Soccer may be instructed by a parent organization, health unit, or other governing body to modify, delay or even cancel activities under special circumstances. In such an event, Belle River Soccer will act in accordance to these directives and shall not be held liable for any inability to deliver the services outlined in this registration.


Equipment and Attire

Players joining for their first season will be provided a jersey, shorts and socks. Returning players are expected to use their previously issued uniform. League provided jerseys are expected to be worn for all games. Goalkeepers will be asked to wear something that distinguishes them from their teammates. Goalkeepers wearing a different shirt is expected to be the only exception to wearing a league provided jersey.

For your safety, proper footwear and shin pads should be worn. This equipment is the player’s responsibility and it not provided by the league.
